Catcher Predictions

Predictions i have about the catcher in the rye is the guy on the cover is an important character in the book. He must be down on his luck or something because he always looks sad and is always smoking a cigarette. Where he is must be in the winter because he is wearing a winter hat. The title of the book really doesnt offer any insight what so ever and leaves the reader to be confused on what the story is about. What i want to happen is the story focuses on the main character but also giving that sense of mystery to the book about who this guy is and what he is doing in this city by himself. How can he afford the cigarettes or is he living by himself in the city or does he even have a family close to him. And if he is homeless who or how has he been able to live on the streets on this city
